» How it All Began Founded in 1977, Buddy Bombard’s Europe is the world’s only vacation experience of its kind.  Buddy Bombard's  renowned trips are highly customized luxury tour experiences, interwoven with his trademark daily sightseeing adventuresby low-level balloon, scheduled throughout each trip.  We operate 20 trips each year, in five different European countries; Italy, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, and France. Itineraries range in length from 5 to 10 days, some of which can be expanded with our 3 or 4 day Optional Trip Extensions by private car to Normandy, Germany's King Ludwig Castles, or through Italian Riviera & the French & Swiss Alps.  Trip Combination programs are also offered for those who would like to experience  two or more consecutive Buddy Bombard destinations. Trips are all-inclusive from Europe, with luxury hotel, all meals, fine wines with all lunches and dinners, sightseeing, and private visits and events, daily balloon adventures, gratuities, and are hosted by Buddy Bombard.

A trip with us presents many opportunities to meet interesting European locals as well as some of Europe’s most colorful aristocrats. On each departure, we check into one luxury hotel for the duration of the trip, setting out to explore the town and surrounding areas each day by different interesting methods!   Part of each day we experience visits, attractions, and events by private car, and for about an hour and a half each day we change perspective and experience the people, scenery, and sounds from the gondolas of our beautiful balloons! We frequently float low enough to speak with greatly amused people in their gardens as we drift just-above-the-rooftops of ancient cobble-stone villages, medieval castles, or through lush, alpine meadows. The instant and generous hospitality we are able to create for our guests by ‘dropping in’ at nearby farmhouses and picturesque villages is legendary, which makes our spirited landing celebrations shared with unsuspecting locals so whimsical and full of fun. Days are also packed with exquisite dining, guided visits to the most important and interesting attractions in the vicintity of each trip, and wonderful, private invitations to the historic ancestral castles and estates of local nobility, vintners and friendly villagers who throw open their arms to welcome us. Each evening a festive dinner party is planned—perhaps by firelight in an 11 th century ruined fortress, at a posh gourmet restaurant, or as guests of a Contrada competing in the spectacle of Siena’s Palio. For 32 years Buddy Bombard and his famous balloons have opened doors for our guests throughout Europe, allowing our programs to resonate with Old World grace and cultural authenticity far beyond the expectation of the most seasoned traveler.
